The Mongoose and The Snake

The Hunter and his Dog were combing the jungle for rabbits. Suddenly they stopped, struck by a strange sight. A Mongoose and a Snake were engaged in a life and death struggle. The powerful reptile was furiously hissing and trying to bit the Mongoose. While the Mongoose was saving himself from the bite as well as counter-attacking the Snake with his claws.

The Hunter decided to end the fight. He shot the Mongoose. But in a moment his dog was crying with pain, and then dropped dead. The Snake had bitten him since his enemy, the Mongoose, was no more. "Oh, I had ignored the deadly Snake. Had I not stop the Mongoose there would have been one snake less, and my dog alive," the hunter lamented.

Moral: Be careful in choice of your enemies.
