Bahasa Inggris itu Gampang (13)

Hey Jude, don’t make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better. – The Beatles, Hey Jude. Bentuk kalimat ‘imperative’ (menyuruh orang lain melakukan suatu tindakan) adalah menggunakan kata kerja bentuk 1 (V-1/simple verb).

Pembahasan 13:
Hey Jude, don’t make it bad.

Ketika kita menyuruh orang lain melakukan suatu tindakan, kita menggunakan V-1. Subject (You, tunggal maupun jamak) tidak perlu disebutkan. Penambahan “please”, di depan atau di belakang kalimat, tidak menambahkan makna khusus kecuali untuk membuat kalimat itu menjadi lebih halus/sopan.

Wrong Toilet

By Peggy Fransisca Agam – Surabaya.
Once, my friend and I were window shopping at Plaza Surabaya. After going around, we intended to go to the rest room. While we were inside the toilet for ladies, two men foreigners entered the same toilet. We were confused whether we entered wrong toilet or the foreigners were illiterate.
Then, we came across what was happening. The foreigners apologized for entering the ladies toilet since they couldn’t help urinating (peeing) while the toilet for men was under repair.Web-Stat

Upside-down

By Erny Mulyosari – Surabaya.
Solidarity is very important in life, but sometimes it can also be very dangerous. When I was in junior high school, five friends and I usually did everything and went everywhere together. One day, our classmate would celebrate her birthday. It was raining hard when I had to go. I took a ‘man-powered’ taxi (becak) and picked up the other five.

Pada Bahasa Inggris itu Gampang 3 kita menggunakan Subject They, We, I, You. Kali ini, kita menggunakan Subject He, She dan (It). Are you ready?

Bahasa Inggris itu Gampang (3)

Tenses.

Mari kita memulai pembahasan kita, are you ready?

Pembahasan 2:
Is her name Windy Solafide? What is her name?
Untuk membuat kalimat tanya, kita memindahkan Be ke depan Subject. Bentuk pertanyaan ini biasanya disebut Yes/No question, karena cukup dijawab Yes atau No.
Untuk membuat kalimat pertanyaan yang memerlukan informasi (biasanya disebut Information Question atau WH Question) kita letakkan kata tanya (what, where, why, who, how, …..) di bagian paling depan.
