Experience: Puppy Love? Don’t Care

When I was in the last grade of elementary school, a classmate of mine felt in love with me. In the beginning, I didn't pay attention on this, I just thought that he was a good friend who always cared of me.

Experience: Speaking With Tourist? Who Scared!

When I was 12, my school held a filed trip to Borobudur. Our teacher gave a task to all students to look for tourists and make a conversation with them. We had to do it in pairs. I was very happy. “It’s challenging,” I thought.

Experience: Drowned in A Swimming Pool

It happened ten years ago when I still could not swim well. The night before, the electricity in our house was out so my father wanted to book a hotel room for a day. Before we left for the hotel, my mother prepared all things required such as clothes, swim suit, etc. After all things were ready, we went to the hotel. When we arrived there, we were alr

Experience: Getting A Traffic Accident

It was Saturday, January 29, 2011. I had to go to a friend’s house at Citraland to celebrate his birthday. Another friend and I would go there but we decided to have dinner at PTC, first. When we were at PTC, both of us thought that at 7 p.m. we would have dinner in the birthday party. So, we decided not to eat much.

Experience: Going To A Cinema

The first time I went to a cinema was about ten years ago when I was still in the kindergarten. At that time I thought a cinema was a big TV set called cinema. Anytime my family and I went to a supermarket to buy daily needs and some beverage I saw the cinema. After we were at home I often asked my mother when we would go to the cinema.

Another Way To Earn Money

My younger brother, Agus, who is now nine years old is rather creative and spoiled. He always asks for money anytime there is a seller offering anything. Mother often doesn’t give him any money, because the things he wants to buy aren’t useful nor important.

Once I went to Kenjeran Amusement Coastal Park. I just wanted to have refreshing after studying for a week. I saw a very beautiful girl there. She looked at me and smiled. “Oh, my,” I exclaimed softly. “She is the girl of my type.”

Blind Jealousy

A cousin of mine, Hanes, is a handsome boy. He is very closed to me. We sometimes go to some plazas.
One day, he came to my house and asked me to accompany him to Tunjungan Plaza. He wanted me to help him choose the shirt he was buying.

Getting Traffic Accident

motor accident/thejakartapost.com
When I was in the sixth grade of elementary school, I got a traffic accident. It was Sunday afternoon, my father and I went to church by motorcycle. When we had to turn right on a crossroad, a motorcycle with two girls on it came very fast and crashed ours. It was because the girls were busy with a cellular phone while one of them was riding with only one hand.

Motivation To Study English

By Reny Widya Lestari – Dept. of Secretary and Management, NSC Sby Polytechnic

Every student has his own motivation and reason to study English. I was not so enthusiastic about studying English when I was in junior and senior high schools. I thought studying English was a dull activity, because English was too hard to learn.

Being A Singer-beggar

By Yuli Widayanti – Intermediate One, NSC Sby Polytechnic

One of my hobbies is taking a role in a play. When I was in SMP Hang Tuah IV Sby., I joined ‘Bareta’, the school’s play club. It had some levels or grades: Pemula, Indra, and Madya. To be promoted to a higher grade, the students should get an examination.

Enjoying Michael Learns To Rock

By Yosi Saraswati – Dept. of Secretary and Management, NSC Surabaya Polytechnic

Listening to music loudly often gives us bad experiences. It happened to me once. And once is more than enough.
It was Friday. My parents went to uncle’s house while my brothers were both going to mosque. I had an appointment with my friends to do homework that afternoon. While waiting for them, I turned on the recorder and listened to the songs of Michael Learns to Rock. I enjoyed the songs very much, so I turned the volume higher.

Life Is Very Short

By Shanti Ekavianti – SMAN 11 Jombang

In life, we often get things we don’t expect. They are sometimes very bitter. The following tragedy illustrates what I mean. Ganis Ari Prabowo, our classmate, was born on August 31. He intended to celebrate his seventeenth birthday. When he invited us to come to his party, he said that none of us was allowed to bring any presents but flowers. We thought it was only a joke.

Hair Rollers

By Y. Esther -Dept. of Hotel & Tourism, NSC Sby Polytechnic

Having a good appearance, especially a good hair look, is what girls always dream of. I used to have some hair rollers before sleeping in order to make my hair stylish the next morning. It was when I was a student of a senior high school.
One night, as usual, I went to bed late after doing some homework. The following morning, I overslept. I got up at almost seven. After taking a bath, I wore my uniform and went to school hurriedly. Since the school was close to my house, I went there on foot.

Me, My Husband, and His Other Woman

Never crossed my mind that I would live such life. I hate soccer and I married a soccer journalist. What an irony. I must swallow the fact that all the income in my family comes from soccer, indeed.

Wrong Toilet

By Peggy Fransisca Agam – Surabaya.
Once, my friend and I were window shopping at Plaza Surabaya. After going around, we intended to go to the rest room. While we were inside the toilet for ladies, two men foreigners entered the same toilet. We were confused whether we entered wrong toilet or the foreigners were illiterate.
Then, we came across what was happening. The foreigners apologized for entering the ladies toilet since they couldn’t help urinating (peeing) while the toilet for men was under repair.Web-Stat

Upside-down

By Erny Mulyosari – Surabaya.
Solidarity is very important in life, but sometimes it can also be very dangerous. When I was in junior high school, five friends and I usually did everything and went everywhere together. One day, our classmate would celebrate her birthday. It was raining hard when I had to go. I took a ‘man-powered’ taxi (becak) and picked up the other five.
