A donkey and a dog heard musician playing on the sitar.
"How lovely!" exclaimed the dog, "The sitar player is a genius.”
"Nonsense!" sneered the donkey. "Anybody can pluck the strings and make the sound."
The two animals closed in to have a better look of the sitar player. He was lost in his music with his eyes closed.
"A clever manipulator of strings," commented the donkey, "I can do it better." The sitar player had fallen asleep in the meantime.
"If you think so, just show me," challenged the dog.
The donkey lifted the sitar and plucked the strings with his hooves. The exercise snapped the fragile strings, making a weird sound. Then it was total silence.
Moral: You cannot get milk out of stone.
